Visual Identity

Your mission is not the problem-your brand just isn’t keeping up. We will design a visual identity that cuts through the clutter and builds trust, not confusion.

We’ll Design a Brand People Trust, Remember-and Rally Around.

We design bold, strategic visual identities that make people pay attention, understand, and care. Whether you’re starting fresh or cleaning up an outdated brand, we’ll help you show up with clarity, character, and the kind of credibility that moves your mission forward.

What We Deliver

We won’t simply design a logo-we’ll create a full visual identity system that brings your mission to life, builds trust, and actually gets noticed. Here’s what’s in the mix:

Logo Design & Evolution

Your logo is often the first handshake with your audience. We design logos that are clean, timeless, and built to flex-from tiny favicons to massive banners. Already have a logo that’s almost right? We can evolve it-keeping what works, ditching what doesn’t, and aligning it with who you are today.

Color Palette

Color isn’t just decoration-it’s emotional shorthand. We’ll create a palette that captures your tone and energy, works across web and print, meets accessibility standards, and makes people feel what you’re all about-whether that’s urgency, warmth, hope, or strength.

Typography

Fonts matter more than most people think. We’ll help you choose typography that reflects your personality, reinforces your message, and actually reads well. We also set up a hierarchy system so everything from headlines to footnotes feels cohesive and clear.

Photography & Imagery Guidelines

Stock photos won’t cut it. We help you define a visual style that’s real, human, and honest-from documentary-style imagery to expressive illustrations. We’ll guide you on sourcing, tone, and ethical usage-especially when your work involves vulnerable communities.

Brand Look, Feel & Personality

We define how your brand should feel and carry that personality into consistent design choices across every touchpoint.

Why It Matters

A strong visual identity isn’t just about looking good-it’s about showing up with confidence, consistency, and credibility. Here’s what your brand does when it’s clear and cohesive.

  • Positions your organization as a leader in your field.
  • Boosts internal pride and helps your people rally behind the mission.
  • Gives your team the tools to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Builds trust with donors, partners, and the communities you serve.
  • Creates consistency across every campaign, platform, and touchpoint.

Who It’s For

Whether you’re a…

  • Startup nonprofit crafting your first public presence
  • Legacy organization stepping into a bold new chapter
  • Team navigating a name change, leadership shift, or full-on rebrand

We meet you where you are and help you build the visual foundation for your next chapter.

Because regardless of your stage, your brand should reflect your mission today (and into the future)-not who you were five years ago.

Let’s Build Something Beautiful

If your current brand doesn’t reflect who you are-or where you’re going-it’s time to make a change.

We’ll help you design a visual identity that tells the truth about your work, establishes a genuine connection, and invites people to be part of your growth and impact.

Let’s Talk

Questions, answered.

What is included in a visual identity project?

A Liminal visual identity project includes your logo, color palette, typography, and photography guidelines, built to carry your message across print and digital. It is designed from your messaging, so the look matches what you stand for.

Do you provide a brand guide?

Yes. Each Liminal visual identity project includes a brand guide of about 10 to 12 pages with your exact colors, logo usage rules, fonts, and social media icons. It gives your team what it needs to use the brand consistently.

Can you refresh our existing logo, or do we start over?

Liminal can refresh an existing logo or design a new one, depending on what your brand needs and what the research shows. We talk that through with you before any design begins.

Do you do naming or renaming?

Yes. Liminal takes on naming for organizations, programs, and campaigns as its own focused project, usually scoped alongside or after a messaging engagement. We believe a strong name grows out of clear messaging, so the messaging work comes first.
